As a young black man growing up in notorious South London, Maximus struggled to make a life for himself. Despite the daily struggles, his journey inspired him to be resilient. After numerous attempts to find a suitable profession, he has found himself exploring the world around him through the lens of the art of poetry. An art he is now using to address issues affecting the black people and general societal problems.

When you are feeling voiceless, hopeless, or your rights are being violated and don't see the light at the end of the tunnel, it can be difficult to believe that it is ever going to be any better. How can it be better if you're facing adversity, disrespect, and worse, simply because of the way you look?

What can you do if you struggle not because of something you did but because of your race? Is there a way to find meaning in all of your suffering and, perhaps, learn how to stand firm and brave despite the adversities?
